Lauren Brooke lives outside of London in
a farmhouse. These Heartland eleven books set are all about story of a healing
horse. Brooke splits her time between scripting and mucking out the stalls of
her two horses. Lauren Brooke writes about horses. Also in her books, there
would always be a problem during that, she makes it exciting.
The Heartland books is about Amy a girl,

The Characters in this series are great
and each story line is different and impressive. Easy, fun short reads that can
be enjoyed by anyone from middle school and older. The characterizations,
plots, and writing, are all really, really simplistic and predicable. Brooke’s
detailing of the situations or the characters are just so realistic.
The Heartland series includes: 1. Coming
Home, 2. After the Storm, 3. Breaking Free, 4. Taking Chances, 5. Come What

This is a wonderful series of books to
read, it’s a great length, and it keeps you engaged. These books are great for all
age groups and for anyone who is as much as an animal lover.
1. Coming Home
Coming Home is the first book to the
Heartland novels series, written by Lauren Brooke. A 14 year old girl named Amy
has a huge passion for horses. With her mother’s help, she is learning skills
on how to take more care of horses and how to “horse whisper” while also giving
her attention to the other farm animals at Heartland, a sanctuary for horse
that have been exposed to emotional and physical harm. But when her mother is killed
in a terrible trailer accident, Amy has to grow up quickly, and notices how
drastically her world is changing.
2. After the Storm
Amy's relationship with the horse that
she was trying to save the night of her mother's accident. The horse's name is
Spartan. This book delved into this horse's history and that he used to belong
to another owner named Larry Boswell and that he was originally named Gerry,
short for Geronimo. Amy's relationship with Spartan becomes stronger as the
story progresses, but Spartan eventually ends up with Hannah Boswell who is
Larry's granddaughter. Amy's relationship with Spartan proved that he was able
to heal since he was severely traumatized because of her mother's accident, but
this relationship also gave Amy the appropriate outlet to heal and overcome her
mother's death.
3. Breaking Free
Heartland is a horse farm nestled in the
hills of Virginia, but it's much more than that. Heartland is like no other
place - it's a place where scars of the past can be healed, where frightened
and abused horses can learn to trust again. Pegasus is all Amy has left of her
past, but he's steadily growing weaker. Amy's trying to care for him and hold
Heartland together. She's trying to do just what her mother would have done,
but everything is beginning to unravel. It will take all Amy's courage to let
go of her mother's legacy, but it is the only way she will break free.
4. Taking Chances
This novel is about a horse farm in
Virginia, Heartland. It’s a place where “the scars of the past can be healed, a
place where frightened and abused horses learn to trust again.”In this novel it
tests Amy and Ty’s friendship when a new stable hand – Ben – arrives. Having a
secret she can’t tell, Amy realizes “she’s pushed Ty away, (and) he may have
decided to leave Heartland forever.”
5. Come What May
In Come What May, Amy is stunned when Lou
reveals that she has been in contact with their estranged father. Amy takes in
a injured pregnant mare while her sister Lou tries to get in touch with their
dad. This is a book for horse crazy teenagers plus the whole series.
6. One Day You'll Know
Amy's life has changed so much since her
mother's passing. Her responsibilities weigh heavily on her shoulders. Then
things take a turn. Amy's Grandfather falls ill and Lou is away on a
goose-chase in England looking for their father. Amy doesn't know what to do,
but she relies on Ty for help, more than anyone. He's been a kind and caring
friend to her. Is it possible for her to believe there could be more between
then other than friendship?
7. Out of the Darkness
Heartland Farm has just taken on its most
famous client yet - racehorse Gallant Prince, who was injured in a barn fire
and has now become completely unmanageable. The key to Prince's recovery seems
to lie in his former groom, Ryan, who was blinded and burned in the same fire.
The struggle to overcome a traumatic experience for horse and human strikes a
chord with Amy, who recalls working with Spartan after the accident that killed
her mother, and the need to heal before moving on is reflected in Amy's
reluctance to let go of the foal Daybreak, who is ready to be sold. There are
some repercussions of Amy and Ty's kiss at the Christmas party.
8. Thicker Than Water
Amy and Lou's estranged father Tim is
coming to Heartland to see his daughters for the first time in 12 years, and
Amy is nervous. She's angry that he waited so long to contact them. Amy's got
enough on her hands, dealing with a horse that won't let anyone touch her ears
and a pony that keeps rearing. Plus Lou has come up with a business plan to
start a riding school.
9. Every New Day
When Amy's mother dies, she takes on her
mother's role of horse-healer at their ranch, Heartland. Mercury, a very
talented horse, has a fear of jumping because his old masters hit him. Amy tries
and tries with Mercury. She finally takes the horse to a Native American who
knew her mother. Huten doesn't give her any direct answers. Amy discovers that
she needs to look at problems in different ways. Sometimes, the answer isn't
always clear. With patience, Amy finally helps Mercury overcome his fear.
10. Tomorrow's Promise
Amy meets Daniel at a horse show, where
he is rude to her because he thinks she's like Ashley, a spoiled rich rider who
sneers at him for having patched up show clothes and a horse that doesn't look
like a Thoroughbred jumper. But Daniel and his horse Amber are really talented,
and Amy stretches her already limited time to try to help him out. Meanwhile
she is dealing with the one-year anniversary of her mother's death, and struggling
in her relationship with Ty, plus her father surprises them with a horse he
bought on a whim, Storm, who could be a top-level jumper. But when Amber is
injured at a show, will Amy have time for any of that?
11. True Enough
This True enough book was layered with
two horse stories this time, with one being Amy trying to help Ashley train her
horse Bright Magic differently. Even though Ashley cooperated with Amy when
they were alone at Heartland, in the competition she ultimately chose to go
back to old methods since her mother was pressuring her. The story about Boxer
and having an owner with Alzheimer's disease was incredibly complex and rich.
